About Karyn Henley
Award-winning author Karyn Henley is best known as the author of the original version of The Beginner's Bible, which during the fifteen years it was in print (1989-2004),sold over 5 million copies and was translated into 17 languages. Subsequently she wrote the Day By Day Kid's Bible, a chronological Bible for young readers ages 7 to 10, and most recently, the Day By Day Begin-To-Read Bible, written at a first-grade reading level for ages 4 to 7.

Already honored in 1997 by the Children's Pastor's Conference with the “Excellence in Children's Ministry Award,” Karyn was named one of the Top 10 People Who Have Changed the Face of Children's Ministry during the 1990s by Children's Ministry Magazine, in 2000.

Karyn's PLAYSONGS™ music & movement series for ages 2 to 5 continues to gain popularity as a resource for use in home, church and child care settings. Other releases for children include Rag Baby, My Learn To Pray Bible and Tell Me About God.

An accomplished songwriter, Karyn has been a Dove Award nominee, and received a regional Emmy Award as Music Composer for a Christmas television special.

Karyn grew up in Abilene, Texas, and began teaching at the age of 14 when she was asked by her mother to teach a Bible class of 18-month-olds. More than forty years later, Karyn's Child Sensitive Teaching continues to be popular equipping tool for parents and teachers

A graduate of Abilene Christian University (BSEd), Karyn received a Master's of Fine Arts degree from Vermont College in 2004. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
